WEBSITE UNDER CONSTRUCTION - A PLACE FOR CREATIVE CHANGE
This is the story of a long love,
long if you measure it by ordinary human time, but incredibly short if you measure the love in terms of two individuals who were completely fascinated with each other 24 hours a day for a very brief forty-five years. This beautiful story of love and life, death and grief shares not just their story, but insights into what created such a magnificent relationship and union. This is also the story of the creation of a powerful psychodynamic psychotherapy team and therapeutic paradigm. Frank and Dixie worked with hundreds of clients and trained dozens of therapists during their years of practice. Healing and psychological growth were the goals throughout their work. Finally it is a lasting tribute to one of the most beautiful souls ever.
Memoir of Frank Reinhardt Morris:
A Lifelong Passion - A Fascination with Psychotherapy
Memoir of Dix Lela Gescheidle Morris,
Writing the memories of one's life is rather intimidating. Sharing circumstances, times and events in a manner which will create a movie for the reader is challenging in and of itself. Deciding what to include is even more mind boggling. This, I chose a metaphor by which, together, we can hop through the years. Hopefully, in the process pictures will be created which will communicate the gist of my journey.
Wisdom Series includes:
"Liberation Psychotherapy"
"The Freudian Labyrinth"
"Black Opal"
Frank Reinhardt Morris began his career as a minister. His specialty was Pastoral Counseling of a psychoanalytic nature. In the mid-70's, Frank re-trained in several psycho-therapeutic disciplines and became a Transactional Analyst.
A tight overview of the therapeutic system developed over a span of forty years. Astute readers know there is no authoritative 'Right Way', signed and sealed by the potentate of all healing. The best any writer can do is be confessional, as true to science as possible, and report on decades of clinical experience.
A psychotherapeutic journey from boyhood to adulthood. The author sifted through a century of Freudian theory and in this book through self-examination, explains specifically how those theories can be used for an individual's liberation.
A psychoanalytic novel about major human traumas. Each chapter is followed by a therapeutic analysis, explaining the dynamics occurring in the characters.
This book concentrates upon the art and science of Psychotherapy. Along the way, psychoanalysis, neuroscience, and modern linguistics are explored and utilized to facilitate actual therapeutic sessions. Overall the book emphasizes empiricism and gives concrete examples.
A meta view of static belief systems.
Why are people so foundationally afraid to be open about their personally held belief systems? Is it because they think that if they are wrong in one area they will be mentally devastated?
This historical novel describes the stories of two black slaves during the 1840's in Kentucky. This is a poignant story of the cruelty of slavery, and the beauty of friendship and love.
This book gives information on how to presuppose grandchildren and help shape them into healthy and happy people.
How Freud Changed World Civilization: The Triumph of Truth
Freud re-defined human nature studies. Prior to Freud there were sacred and philosophical studies but no empirical studies of actual humans. The Freudian Revolution transforming civilization was purely secular and influenced everything from sexuality to understandings of God, evil, and intimate love. This book provides a manual on human transformation.
With a new view of consciousness and usage of evolution, this little book provides a view of human nature drawn from psychotherapy. A scheme for emotions provides the entry point.
"I hurt as I recount this story from long ago and faraway. Maybe someone out yonder will hear how Scripts can be so deadly and awaken. I hope so. Mary would like that."
"...it is important to give the person
permission to feel what was lost years ago. Since we now live in an age of information, it is good homework to write full explanations of each step on the Anatomy of a Trauma."
"It is liberating to know that grown adults can free themselves from the chains of childhood. Use of the Anatomy of a Trauma and observation of its results is a good example of that."
"What has fascinated me are the ways we lose our solitariness and belong to this or that: a social club, a team, a work place of
compatriots, a church, or a group dedicated to a given purpose. In other words, there is something about human nature that pulls us to belong."
"The assumption inherent in the hoopla of the Red Book is that a Master, from a half century plus ago, came up with the Holy Grail of Human Psychology. 'Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!'"
"Nothing turns on therapists more than talking about feelings! A model is needed that is elegant in that it provides a sufficient map of the territory, while being simple so that anyone who can talk can understand it. SASHET accomplishes that."
"Question: Is there a Napoleon script where an unremarkable person gets into proving himself for an entire lifetime? What do you think? Is it necessary? Why isn’t just living life sufficient? Is it possible that Freud was right about grownup life being so influenced by a child’s thinking and situation that he (or she) simple repeats the same themes over and over…until death do them part?"
"People, too, are complex. Still, it is popular to make simple generalizations
- usually on the basis of good/bad, nice/rude, smart/dumb, conservative/liberal, pretty/ugly or other easy dualism's. The brain makes snap judgments and categorizes people with enormous rapidity."
"In this short paper I will avoid the deepest rooted ‘weeds’ like Narcissism
and the Script, both of which are year round and daily destroy human freedom. Instead, I will concentrate on the ‘pullable’ weeds and offer light suggestions for gardeners of the soul."
